We are delighted to report that our kids are now in a boarding (that's Nepali/English for 'private') school in Buddhanilkantha walking distance from The Kumari Project Safe House. (We asked if they wanted to take the bus, but the kids wanted to walk because they told me it was good for their health and they would be saving money - so healthy and thrifty.) They are transferring from a government school, so they are braving the challenges of switching to a school taught primarily in English, when government schools are notorious for poor English teaching. However, they are still being taught Nepali in school, and they are devouring their Nepali storybooks on the weekends at the Safe House and during their free time after school! I definitely had first day jitters and I wasn't even the one going to a new school. I was so proud of how brave they were. And I have to admit, I had a bit of empty nest syndrome!
