The Kumari Project works to add essential vitamins and minerals to the orphanage diets by supplementing rice and potatoes with greens, fruit, and protein. We celebrate traditional Nepali foods, particularly dal bhat and momos in our nutrition plans, and make sure to offer vegetarian and non vegetarian options for children, as some of them choose to eat or not eat meat for religious reasons.
The Kumari Project also teams up with local doctors and to offer regular free check ups, medications, and discounted medical services to orphans who would otherwise have no access to healthcare. |
